Series background & context

The Girls on the Hill is one of the key branches of Foxworthy's larger Jensen timeline. It begins with Robby Jensen meeting Page and learning, very quickly, that his life is being nudged by older plans, hidden instructions, and a reality that is stranger than it first appears. The resort setting gives the series an almost relaxed surface, but underneath that surface the books are quietly building a bigger pattern.

Robby is the center.

What makes the series distinctive is how it mixes household story, fantasy logic, and a slow expansion of family. The first book introduces the idea that Page is following conditioning and cues left by an older version of herself. Later books bring in Alice, the non-biological woman waiting at the residence on the hill, as well as elves, estate politics, and the practical work of creating a durable home for a very unusual group of people.

The hill itself matters because it represents a shift in scale. What starts as a personal romance becomes a story about stewardship, inheritance, and the pressure that comes when outsiders notice a weakness in what Robby and the women around him are building. By Enchanted Empire, the series is clearly thinking in terms of systems, not just couples.

If you enjoy found family fantasy with domestic stakes, hidden machinery, and a gently widening sense of wonder, this is one of Foxworthy's most central series. It is intimate, odd, and more important to the wider chronology than it first seems.
