Series background & context
A Throne for Sisters is built around two sisters who love each other deeply but want very different lives. Sophia is more romantic and drawn toward court life, elegance, and the possibility of love. Kate is tougher, more practical, and dreams of swordsmanship, dragons, and becoming a warrior. Both are orphans. Both want out. Both are carrying a secret gift that makes survival slightly more possible.
That sister dynamic is the whole point.
The series begins in a brutal orphanage and quickly expands into the city of Ashton, the royal court, dangerous journeys, strange magic, and the long mystery of who the girls' parents were. The sisters do not walk the same path, and that gives the books a nice rhythm. One thread may be moving through romance and politics while the other is moving through training, sorcery, or more openly dangerous ground.
Their shared ability to read minds adds a supernatural layer, but the books stay rooted in emotional choices. Can they trust the people who offer help? Can they hold onto each other while the world keeps separating them? Can they survive learning more about themselves than they ever expected?
There are dragons, witches, assassins, princes, and a larger fantasy conflict behind it all, but the family core keeps the story readable. Even when the plot gets bigger, the question is still what these sisters will protect, and what they are willing to become.
If you like fantasy that mixes court drama with sisterhood, magic, and a strong survival streak, this series has a very clear identity.
