Sins Of The Duke Books in Order

Sins of the Duke sits on the darker side of Eva Devon's romance shelf. The mood here is less playful ballroom comedy and more danger, revenge, and people trying to claw their way toward safety. The series still delivers love stories, of course, but the path is rougher.

In the Devil's Bed opens with a hero driven by revenge. Captain Jack Hazard has built himself from nothing and wants justice against a duke he holds responsible for terrible loss. Lady Regan stands directly in the path of that plan, and the book gets much of its tension from the way personal feeling keeps colliding with anger and class resentment.

That is not light material.

In the Duke's Bed keeps the emotional intensity but changes the shape of it. Lady Ophelia is isolated, burdened by family illness, and cut off from the wider life she might have had. Her story with the Duke of Stark is still deeply romantic, but it is also about art, loneliness, and the shock of being seen again.

What unites the series is the sense that love arrives in damaged places. Devon is interested in people who are cornered, grieving, angry, or worn down, and who still somehow find each other. The heroes are often powerful in one sense and badly unsteady in another. The heroines are not decorative solutions. They are active moral centers inside the story.

If you want a Devon series with more threat, more emotional bite, and a stronger emphasis on survival as well as romance, Sins of the Duke is the one to try.
