Must Love Rogues Books in Order

If you like your historical romance with sharp banter, old hurts, and a slightly theatrical sense of fun, Must Love Rogues is a good Eva Devon series to reach for. These books lean hard into wit and verbal sparring, but the emotional underlayer is usually more tender than the characters want to admit.

The opener, The Rogue and I, makes that clear straight away. Devon openly plays with a Much Ado About Nothing flavor there, giving readers a pair who fight, misunderstand, and still cannot stay away from each other. That Shakespearean energy, all battle on the surface and longing underneath, runs through much of the series.

The heroes tend to be rogues by reputation, but not always by heart.

That is part of the appeal. Devon likes men who joke, deflect, charm, or misbehave while carrying some deeper fear, regret, or vulnerability. She then sets them against women who can answer them line for line. The result is a lot of chemistry, a lot of pride, and usually at least a few scenes where one or both parties need to admit they have been fools.

The connected world also helps. By the time you move through books like If the Rogue Fits, Duke Goes Rogue, Live and Let Rogue, and Rogue Be A Lady, the series has built a comfortable rhythm. Characters recur, titles shift around, and the men who seem least likely to settle are steadily pulled into their own stories.

There is a light touch to the writing, but Devon never lets that flatten the stakes. Betrayal, second chances, family trouble, and social pressure still matter. The humor just keeps the books moving.

If you want Regency romance that feels lively, a little cheeky, and built around couples who can wound and woo each other with the same sentence, Must Love Rogues lives up to its name.
