The Kiss and Hell books sit closer to paranormal romance with a demonic edge than to Cassidy's later cozy mysteries. They still have her sense of humor, but the setup is a little darker, a little sexier, and a lot more tangled up with Hell itself.

The first book introduces Delaney Markham, a woman who does not just see dead people, she hears them, too. That gift is already enough to make ordinary life difficult. Then Clyde Atwell shows up, looking like a very appealing ghost and turning out to be something far more dangerous. Once demons, assignments from Hell, and reluctant attraction all enter the picture, Delaney's life becomes a lot more complicated than a simple haunting.

The follow-up shifts focus to Marcella, an ex-demon who pays the price for defying Lucifer. Her story widens the world and gives the series one of its core strengths, characters who are stuck between categories. Human and not. Good and not. Safe and not even close. That tension gives the romance extra bite because nobody is entering these relationships from stable ground.

These books move on chemistry, danger, and supernatural rules that are just strange enough to keep things lively. Cassidy is interested in what happens when ordinary emotional mess collides with infernal bureaucracy, psychic gifts, and people who are not entirely what they seem.

If you like paranormal romance with mediums, demons, and a little underworld suspense, Kiss and Hell is an easy pick. It is not her coziest work, but it carries the same fast banter and strong romantic pull that runs through the rest of her catalog.
