Harrow Faire Books in Order

Harrow Faire is probably the Kathryn Ann Kingsley series most often recommended first, and it is easy to see why. The setup is irresistible: an abandoned fairground stirs back to life, a woman steps inside, and the place turns out to be less a circus than a hungry supernatural trap.

Cora Glass is the heart of the series. Her life is already small and cramped when Harrow Faire appears, and that matters because the carnival does not lure her in with simple wonder. It offers escape, spectacle, danger, and a new set of chains all at once. Once Cora is inside, the question is never just whether she can leave. It is what the Faire wants from her, and what it will do if she refuses.

Then there is Simon Waite, the Puppeteer. He is one of Kingsley's signature villain love interests for a reason. Simon is charming, theatrical, predatory, funny, and absolutely not safe. His obsession with Cora powers much of the series, but the books never reduce the story to romance alone. Simon is only one part of a much bigger nightmare, and Cora is caught between him, the living magic of the Faire itself, and the sinister designs of Mr. Harrow.

The setting really matters here. Harrow Faire feels alive in every sense, with tents, stages, attractions, and performers all working like parts of a body that can decide to keep what it eats. The books lean into carnival imagery, stagecraft, illusion, and decay. They are playful in places, creepy in others, and often both at once.

This series knows exactly how strange it wants to be.

Across the five main books, the stakes keep growing from personal survival to something much larger about control, power, and the true nature of the Faire. If you like dark romance with a strong plot, gothic funhouse energy, and a villain who never stops being a villain, this is the series to try.
