Series background & context

The Tudor Queens books place romance close to female power, which changes the feel of everything around it. These are not simply stories set in the Tudor period. They are stories shaped by courts, queens, favor, spectacle, and the constant threat of political fallout.

In McCabe's hands, that means ladies-in-waiting, courtiers, spies, pageants, and holiday revels all matter alongside the central love story. One book moves through Elizabeth's glittering court, another into the dangerous orbit of Mary Queen of Scots. The settings are different, but the shared appeal is the same: intimacy under watchful eyes.

These romances are lush without being overblown. They offer gowns, palaces, and ceremony, but also treason scares, personal compromise, and women trying to stay alive and useful near powerful rulers. If you want Tudor romance with real tension in the background, this series has it.
