The Blossom Tree of Dreams

by Holly Martin

2022

Indigo Bloom travels to Wishing Wood to tell River Brookfield he is going to be a father after their one unforgettable night. When he fails to recognise her, she keeps her identity secret, taking a job at the treehouse resort while their undeniable connection slowly grows again.

Series background & context

The Treehouse books take place in and around Wishing Wood, a forest on the coast that has been transformed into a one of a kind treehouse resort. Here, wooden walkways wind between towering trunks, fairy lights glimmer above hot tubs and guests sleep high up among the leaves while waves crash in the distance.

At the heart of the resort is the Brookfield family, who own and run the business. Each treehouse is built to feel like a private hideaway, but the staff and community behind the scenes are closely knit. That mix of seclusion and togetherness gives Holly Martin a rich backdrop for stories about people who arrive with heavy secrets and leave with lighter hearts.

In The Blossom Tree of Dreams Indigo Bloom comes to Wishing Wood with news that will upend two lives. A few months earlier she spent an unforgettable night with River Brookfield, one of the brothers who manage the resort, and now she is pregnant. River, however, does not remember her. Rather than lead with the truth, Indigo decides to work at the resort and get to know him properly before revealing who she is. Their slow burn romance unfolds through shared workdays, stolen glances and the constant presence of the blossom tree that seems to watch over them.

The Wisteria Tree of Love focuses on Meadow, who has carried a torch for Bear Brookfield, River’s brother, since they were teenagers. Coming back to Wishing Wood forces her to confront those feelings and the reasons they never had a chance before. The wisteria draped treehouse that features in their story becomes a symbol of second chances, its flowers blooming as they try to untangle past hurts.

The resort itself provides a magical frame for these relationships. Guests arrive for honeymoons, anniversaries or quiet escapes, and the forest is full of little rituals, from secret wish spots to shared meals under lantern lit branches. Locals and staff members meddle good naturedly, pushing the couples toward the happiness they are often too scared to claim.

Though each novel centres on a different pair, familiar faces drift in and out of the pages, giving readers the sense of an extended family living and working among the trees. The tone stays light, with plenty of humour and warmth, but Martin also makes room for more serious threads about trust, family expectations and the courage it takes to start again.

For readers who like a hint of fairytale in their romance – complete with elevated walkways, starry skies and cosy cabins tucked high in the branches – the Treehouse stories offer an inviting escape.
