The Suttons are not polished aristocrats who occasionally flirt with scandal. That background gives the books texture right away. Jasper, Rafe, Pen, Hart, Wolf, Lily, and Logan each get their turn, but the family feeling is what makes the series stick. That makes them especially good romantic leads. They know how to survive, but not always how to trust being loved.
