The Magitech Chronicles Books in Order

The Magitech Chronicles is what happens when someone takes epic fantasy classes and drops them into a starship war. The series begins with Aran, who wakes in chains with no memory and gets shoved straight into the Confederate Marines as a Tech Mage. From there the books waste very little time.

The big hook is in the name. This world runs on both magic and technology, and Fox leans into that mix hard. Spellrifles, spellships, dragon gods, void magic, marine squads, and fleet battles all live side by side. It is not science fiction with a little magic dusted over it. It is a true hybrid, and the books know that is the fun part.

Aran is only one piece of the story. Major Voria gives the series much of its backbone, Nara brings her own mysteries and loyalties, and the war against the Krox and their Void Wyrm masters keeps opening into something older and stranger. Hidden worlds, dead gods, lost ships, and rival powers all feed the larger conflict.

The scale rises fast. One book might feel like a brutal campaign story, the next like a quest for a mythic weapon, and the next like a struggle to stop the return of a god. Yet the through line stays clear because the characters are always trying to answer the same question, how do you win a war when your enemies are stronger, older, and closer to divinity?

This is a reader-forward series. It likes cool ideas, fast movement, and big reveals. The worldbuilding is detailed, but the storytelling keeps pushing onward.

If you want dragons in vacuum, magic sketched in the air, and starship combat with genuine fantasy stakes, this is Chris Fox at his most openly playful.
