The Guardian (GK DeRosa) Books in Order

The Guardian series is where DeRosa's published fiction began, and you can still see the blueprint for a lot of what came later. The books follow Celeste Wilder, a regular high school senior in Oak Bluffs whose world cracks open after the mysterious Constantin brothers arrive in town. What starts as a paranormal crush story quickly turns into a much bigger discovery about family, destiny, and the hidden creatures moving around her life.

Celeste is a classic DeRosa heroine in the best way. She begins from an ordinary place, gets pulled into a supernatural reality she did not ask for, and has to grow fast just to keep up. Roman and Nico Constantin bring the danger and the romance, but they also bring history, enemies, and secrets that reshape everything Celeste thought she knew about herself.

Oak Bluffs gets less normal by the page.

One thing that makes this series feel distinct is its mix of coming-of-age emotion and urban fantasy sprawl. Guardians, vampires, werewolves, fae, witches, and other supernatural forces all move through the books, but Celeste's personal journey keeps it grounded. She is not just trying to win a romance or survive a battle. She is trying to understand what her role is and what it will cost to step into it.

As the series goes on, the stakes rise from local danger to something broader and darker. Old enemies return, family secrets keep unfolding, and Celeste's power becomes as frightening as it is necessary. DeRosa also uses this series to start building connections that later feed into The Hybrid Trilogy, which makes it a useful starting point for readers curious about her earlier urban fantasy work.

The tone is young adult paranormal romance with plenty of action and emotional drama. If you like small-town supernatural setups, complicated brother dynamics, and heroines who have to choose between safety and truth, this is a solid place to begin.

Start with Wilder, then read Wilder Destiny, Wilder Revelation, and Wilder Legacy in order. The companion novella Finding Wilder adds extra perspective, but the main four books are the heart of Celeste's story.
