The Deception Dance series follows Raven Smith, an eighteen-year-old who plans a carefully organized summer trip through Europe. Raven wants art, museums, time with her older sister, and a little freedom before the next stage of life. What she does not want is a warning that an agent of Hell is coming for her.

She ignores the warning. That turns out to be a mistake.

In The Deception Dance, Raven travels to Italy and meets Andras, a stranger who seems to know far too much about her. She is drawn to him even as he unsettles her. Soon Raven's itinerary is replaced by danger, divided loyalties, and a trip to a Swedish castle connected to Nicholas and his brothers.

Raven is not told the full story by anyone. The people around her offer protection, affection, threats, and half-truths in varying amounts. That creates the series' central tension. Raven needs to learn which dangers are real, who has an agenda, and why so many people believe she is important to a conflict involving demons and Hell.

The setting matters here. The books move through European cities and imposing old spaces, using Raven's interest in art history as a natural way into their atmosphere.
