Series background & context

The Davenports follows a powerful political family whose polished public image hides years of private hurt, complicated loyalties, and secrets that cannot stay buried forever. These are contemporary romances, but the family drama is not just wallpaper. Each love story is tied to questions of trust, reputation, and who gets to control the Davenport story.

The first book, Caught on Camera, introduces JP Davenport, a man born into a political dynasty. Attention follows him everywhere, especially when a Senate seat puts him in the national spotlight. Vega, a videographer with a past she has worked hard to hide, is the last person who wants that kind of exposure. Their attraction is immediate, but both know that getting close could make their most guarded truths impossible to protect.

Nothing stays private for long in this family.

In Caught in the Act, JP's sister Catherine Davenport Carlton tries to escape the chaos for a quiet stay in Maine. Instead, she runs into Brody Hollister, her first love and first heartbreak. Their reunion brings old feelings back to the surface, along with a deeply personal secret from their past. Catherine wants a life beyond the demands of her family name, while Brody has his own history and family concerns to face.

The final novel, Caught off Guard, shifts to Bennett Davenport, who has spent two decades in the military and returns home carrying a painful truth about his family. His closest connection is Aubrey, an investigative journalist and longtime friend with benefits. When Bennett's mother is threatened, Aubrey becomes involved in finding answers, and their casual arrangement starts to mean more. The trouble is that Bennett's family has taught him to expect betrayal, while Aubrey's work makes her look like the obvious person to blame when secrets break loose.

The series works best in order because revelations and family tensions build from one book to the next. Still, each novel gives a different couple the center of the story. Expect second chances, friends becoming something more, political pressure, and adults trying to separate what they want from what their family expects of them.

At heart, these books ask whether love can survive when the past keeps demanding a public reckoning.
