He and Nina investigate who took the artifacts and why, facing adversaries who know their methods unusually well. The series combines treasure-and-history stakes with the same spy-thriller momentum found in the earlier books.

Show No Mercy continues the Steve Dane sequence and keeps the focus on a hero who reacts quickly when criminals and powerful institutions leave ordinary people exposed. The books favor direct missions, rapid reversals, and settings that can change from an elegant European city to a remote danger zone in a few chapters.
