Shadow Elite (Jocelynn Drake) Books in Order

Shadow Elite is the globe-trotting romantic suspense branch of Jocelynn Drake's work. The core team is made up of former CIA agents who have stopped working for the government and started taking jobs on their own terms. They are mercenaries, but the books are less about cold contracts and more about rescues, conspiracies, and the strange family these men have built around each other.

Each novel shifts the spotlight to a different member of the team. Charlie, Kairo, Edison, and Westin all get their own romance, but the shared appeal is the same every time. A job goes sideways. Bullets start flying. Somebody falls hard at the worst possible moment.

That is very much the point.

The settings matter here. One book sends the team into Buenos Aires over lost paintings and old heartbreak. Another traps Kairo in Greece with a damaged billionaire. Another heads to Cairo with ancient clues and a missing professor. By the time the series reaches royal intrigue, fake boyfriends, and a prince who badly needs protecting, the books have fully settled into their sweet spot, fast danger, close teamwork, and romance that keeps pace with the action.

It also helps to know that Shadow Elite is a spin-off from Exit Strategy. You do not need to read that series first to follow the main arc here, but it adds background to the wider world and to some of the people circling the team.

If you like romantic suspense that moves quickly, keeps the cast close, and treats found family as seriously as the love story, this is a very easy Drake series to fall into.
