Series background & context

Kings of Chaos takes one thread from the Lords of Discord world and runs with it. The central setup is immediately strong, a clan of Chinese vampires comes to the United States to rescue their missing brother after a century of captivity tied to the fae. Finding him is only the beginning. From there the books sprawl outward into war, family bickering, new allies, and one romance after another.

What keeps the series moving is the clan itself. These vampires are powerful, nosy, loyal, and very much involved in one another's business. Each book shifts to a different pairing, but the family thread never loosens. Moon and Chen open the line with witch-and-vampire friction. Later books bring in elves, dragons, shifters, and one very long-simmering love story that reaches back more than a thousand years.

Chaos is not just branding here.

The tone is playful in places, but the war with the fae is real and it keeps the larger arc under tension. Characters are not simply falling in love in separate bubbles. They are doing it while trying to protect their clan, unravel magical threats, and survive a supernatural conflict that keeps widening.

This series also ties into Princes of Mayhem, which helps make the wider shared world feel large without losing the intimacy of the central family.

If you want paranormal romance with vampires, found family, a continuing external war, and plenty of banter between brothers who love one another even while driving each other up the wall, Kings of Chaos is a very satisfying branch to follow.
