Series background & context
The Rossi Family books stay in the same Havenport world as Daphne Elliot's earlier coastal romances, but they shift the spotlight to a different corner of town. These stories are still warm, funny, and steamy, but they feel a little more grown-up too. The characters are juggling careers, kids, old heartbreak, family expectations, and the fact that attraction rarely shows up at a convenient time.
Resisting You starts the series with plenty of sparks. Nora Rossi is trying to build her fashion business and fix up an old house, while Luke Kim is the billionaire neighbor she absolutely does not want to want. Their story leans hard into enemies-to-lovers energy, with bickering, forced closeness, and the kind of chemistry that makes both people question their own common sense.
Then Holding You changes the rhythm a bit. Matteo Rossi is a single father trying to keep his life, his daughter, and his business under control, and Eliza arrives at exactly the wrong time for a clean, easy romance. This is the kind of book that understands how desire can collide with responsibility, and how much emotional weight one tired parent can carry before everything starts slipping.
Then Embracing You slows things down and goes deeper.
That book follows Gio and Sam, longtime best friends with years of history between them. Sam comes home to Havenport facing a serious health battle, and the story asks what it means to choose love, joy, and closeness when life feels uncertain. It is still a romance, still hopeful, still very much built for a happy ending, but it has a more tender, reflective pulse than the first two books.
What ties the series together is the town itself. Havenport is the sort of place where everybody knows everybody, where side characters keep reappearing, and where a love story never happens in a vacuum. Friends, siblings, children, coworkers, and well-meaning busybodies are always nearby. That gives the books a connected, lived-in feel even when each romance stands on its own.
If you like small-town contemporary romance with strong personalities, real-life pressures, and a nice mix of humor and emotion, this series is an easy one to settle into. The books work as standalones, but they are more satisfying in order because relationships and town history keep building in the background.
