Series background & context

Premonition Pointe is Deanna Chase's beach-town answer to the question, what happens when life does not go the way a woman planned, but magic still expects her to show up? The series follows women in midlife who are rebuilding after divorce, betrayal, career collapse, grief, or long stretches of putting everyone else first.

The town itself is part of the appeal. Premonition Pointe is coastal, witchy, and welcoming, but not simple. There are covens, ghosts, curses, family secrets, and houses that seem to know more than they should. It is the kind of place where a woman can come for a fresh start and quickly realize that starting over may be harder, and more interesting, than she expected.

Each book focuses on a different heroine, which gives the series a nice mix of personal stories. Some women are newly single. Some are dealing with old flames. Some are trying to trust themselves again. What links the books is the friendship network and the sense that the women of this town genuinely look out for one another. The romances matter, but so does the solidarity.

Chase keeps the tone approachable. These are not dark, sprawling fantasy novels. They are paranormal women's fiction with romance, mystery, and enough magic to push the emotional story into motion. A premonition, a curse, a family home, or a strange message from the past is often what tips the heroine into action.

If you want witches with real adult responsibilities, sharp friendships, and the feeling of a second act that might finally belong to the heroine herself, start with Witching for Grace. From there, the series keeps expanding the town and its coven while staying grounded in love, community, and earned new beginnings.
