Series background & context

Pirates of King's Landing takes Lauren Smith's taste for danger and pushes it out to sea. These books move through pirate ships, prison cells, hidden coves, and colonial ports, with the Caribbean and the wider Atlantic world shaping almost every decision the characters make.

The heroes are not tidy gentlemen. They are captains, rogues, and men used to living one bad choice away from disaster. The heroines arrive with their own problems, from captivity to family duty to impossible engagements, and once they step aboard ship the normal rules stop mattering quite so much.

That is the fun of the series. It keeps the emotional intensity of a historical romance, but the stakes are broader and rougher. Escape, loyalty, mutiny, and survival sit right next to seduction and falling in love. If you want Smith with salt spray, sword edge tension, and a lot of close quarters chemistry, this is the version to pick.
