Series background & context

Operation: Midnight is a romantic suspense series built around MIDNIGHT, a covert agency that handles the dirtiest, most deniable missions the intelligence world has to offer. Each book follows a different operative on a high risk assignment that collides with a powerful, very personal love story.

In Operation: Midnight Tango, an undercover mission inside a prison implodes, forcing agent Zack Devlin to escape by taking tough, by the book corrections officer Emily Monroe hostage. What starts as a desperate alliance becomes a twisted chase through back roads and back channels as they expose a deadly conspiracy that reaches far beyond the prison walls.

Operation: Midnight Escape reunites Special Agent Jake Vanderpol with Leigh Michaels, the woman he once used as bait to bring down an arms dealer. When that criminal escapes years later, Leigh becomes the obvious target. Jake must keep her alive while proving to her that this time she is not just part of the plan.

In Operation: Midnight Guardian, MIDNIGHT agent Sean Cutter is given forty eight hours to track down Mattie Logan, a Department of Defense scientist accused of treason. Hunted by a terrorist known as the Jaguar and stranded in Montana’s backcountry during a brutal cold snap, Sean and Mattie fight both the elements and the enemies who want her silenced.

Operation: Midnight Rendezvous moves the action to a fog bound coastal town where deep cover operative Mike Madrid crosses paths with Jessica Atwood, a woman on the run with a secret and a small child. The quiet seaside community hides a history of corruption and betrayal, and Mike must decide how much he is willing to risk to bring the truth to light.

The final book, Operation: Midnight Cowboy, sends a MIDNIGHT agent undercover on a remote ranch where sabotage and violence point to a plot that could cost many lives. A stubborn, self reliant heroine and a hero who has spent too long alone are forced to work together, putting both of their hearts in the line of fire.

Across the series, readers can expect tight pacing, plenty of action set pieces, wry camaraderie among the agents and a strong emphasis on trust. The books are short, intense reads where the mission is always dangerous, the chemistry between leads is immediate and the endings deliver both justice served and hard won hope.
