New American Mafia Books in Order

The New American Mafia series follows people born into, connected to, or caught beside powerful crime families. These are mafia romances, but the books make room for family bonds, old crushes, personal ambition, and the uncomfortable fact that love can become dangerous when rivals are watching. The stories are connected, so start at the beginning even though each book centers on a different couple.

Bad Princess opens with Sienna Caputo, the only daughter of an Italian American Mafia boss. After her mother’s murder, Sienna was made to hide and play a quieter role than her real personality allowed. As an adult, she is no longer willing to stay out of sight. She is a full member of her family’s world, runs major businesses, and has learned how to stand her ground.

Sienna has also never quite gotten over Matteo De Salvo.

Matteo is a heavyweight boxing champion and a single father. Sienna had a crush on him when they were younger, while he barely seemed to notice her. Years later, she saves him during a dangerous night at a bar, and their long-running tension finally has nowhere to go. Their connection is complicated by rival family ties, Matteo’s responsibilities as a father, and the violence that follows people with power in this world.

Dark Prince shifts the focus to Sienna’s twin brother, Ren, and Sasha Nikolayev, the daughter of a rival family. Sasha is determined to defy the expectations placed on her, and Ren sees that defiance as something he can use. What begins in manipulation and hostility turns into a secret marriage and an intense relationship neither of them can keep separate from their families’ conflicts.

The setting matters because everyone is watched. Family names bring protection, status, and obligation, but they also make private decisions feel like public threats. Sienna, Matteo, Ren, and Sasha all have to navigate loyalty to relatives while trying to claim some say over their own lives. The series does not treat romance as separate from the criminal world. It is tangled up in it from the start.

Expect possessive love interests, sharp banter, heated attraction, family rivalries, and high personal stakes. There is action and danger, but the books keep returning to the question of whether characters can choose their own future when their surnames have already chosen so much for them.

Read Bad Princess before Dark Prince. The couples are different, but the stories share a world and build on the relationships, conflicts, and loyalties established in the first book.
