Series background & context
The Dirty Justice trilogy is a romantic-suspense story about Detective Brianna Andrews, a woman trying to do the right thing in a case where nearly everyone seems to be holding something back. It begins with Dirty Blue, when Bri is assigned to investigate Drago Acerbi, the son of a man with a notorious criminal reputation. She expects a difficult case. She does not expect to be responsible for a baby who needs protection, or to find herself drawn to the man she is supposed to be watching.
Drago is tied to a powerful family name, and Bri has every reason to be wary of him. Her job puts her on one side of the law, while his family history places him on the other. But the more she learns, the less simple the line between good and bad becomes. Bri has to decide who she can trust while dealing with pressure from her own side, dangerous people outside it, and the fact that her feelings for Drago are no longer easy to dismiss.
The baby, Gabe, becomes central to the emotional stakes.
This is not a collection of separate couple stories. Dirty Blue, Dirty War, and Dirty Sin tell one continuous story about Bri, Drago, Gabe, and the criminal network surrounding the Acerbi family. The first book sets the case in motion and ends with major unanswered questions. The second picks up immediately, raising the danger when Gabe is taken and Bri is pushed to her limits. The final book brings Bri’s fight against Vincent Acerbi, Drago’s father, to its most personal point.
The series has a strong law-versus-crime setup, but it is also interested in what happens when official systems fail people. Bri believes in her badge and the work she does, yet she sees corruption, bad motives, and people willing to use the law for their own ends. Her choices get harder because she is not only trying to solve a case. She is trying to protect a child and build a life with someone she was taught to see as the enemy.
Expect a fast-moving mix of undercover work, family loyalties, kidnapping threats, hidden connections, and a romance that keeps colliding with professional duty. Bri and Drago are both pulled in several directions at once, which gives the books a tense, sometimes emotional rhythm.
Start with Dirty Blue and keep the next two books close by. The trilogy is built around cliffhangers and continuing revelations, so reading in order matters.
