Men Of The Mist is where Greiman pushes furthest into paranormal Highland romance. These books start with old Scotland, old loyalties, and old magic, then stir in curses, enchantment, and heroes who are badly out of step with the world around them.

The series hook is not subtle, and that is part of the fun. Warriors emerge from mist, sleep, or legend and have to deal with lives that no longer follow the rules they knew. In Taming The Barbarian, the setup plays with the shock of a fiercely old-fashioned Highland hero colliding with a very different age. Tempting the Wolf follows Nairn O'Banyon, who has had more than enough centuries to collect trouble. Bewitching The Highlander brings in Keelan, waking into a world that feels almost impossible.

Because of that premise, the books carry a stronger fantasy flavor than Greiman's straight historicals. There is still plenty of attraction and banter, but the ongoing tension also comes from displacement. These men are not only falling in love. They are trying to understand what happened to them, what kind of magic touched their lives, and whether they still belong anywhere.

That gives the heroines a lot to do. They are not just romantic partners. They are translators, skeptics, protectors, and sometimes the only people willing to believe what the heroes are saying in the first place.

If you want polished realism, this is not the series to reach for. If you want misty Highland fantasy, time-bent romance, and big dramatic emotions, Men Of The Mist is Greiman having a good time.
