Series background & context

Kissing and Screaming is a small, darkly tilted paranormal shelf, built around shorter stories that mix attraction with menace. The linked titles, Out of the Dark and Haunted by Passion, make it clear what kind of mood Hart is after here. These are not sunlit romances. They are stories where desire arrives carrying a shadow.

That mood does most of the work.

Because the books are short, Hart can move quickly into the central hook without a lot of setup. Expect paranormal elements, emotional immediacy, and characters who are often caught between wanting safety and wanting the very thing that may unsettle them most. The appeal is less about sprawling mythology and more about atmosphere.

If you like your romance compact, eerie, and a little dramatic, this shelf is easy to sample. Read it as a quick side trip into Hart’s darker, more gothic instincts.
