Series background & context

Every Part of You began as a five-part serial, and that format suits the story. The central relationship is all appetite, hesitation, and escalation, so the shorter installments let Megan Hart stop at exactly the right moment and then press a little harder the next time.

The series belongs to Simone and Elliott.

Simone likes to watch, and that voyeuristic spark is where everything starts. From her office, she has been observing Elliott, a man whose sex life seems to confirm all her suspicions about what he wants. When they finally collide in person, Hart gives them instant chemistry but not instant ease. Simone is direct about her desires. Elliott is not. He wants, but he also resists, because what turns him on feels tangled up with shame and old pain.

Across the five parts, Tempts Me, Resists Me, Taunts Me, Denies Me, and Takes Me, the story moves from erotic intrigue into something more emotional and more volatile. Hart keeps the sexual tension high, but the deeper thread is Elliott learning that desire does not automatically make him dangerous, and Simone learning that confidence does not protect anyone from getting hurt.

This is one of Hart’s more overtly serial projects, so cliff-edge endings and emotional momentum are part of the design. If you prefer one uninterrupted read, the collected novel Hurt the One You Love is the smoother choice. But either way, the appeal is the same, a sexy, emotionally jagged romance where curiosity becomes obsession, and obsession has to make room for tenderness if it wants to survive.
