Series background & context

The Jubilee series is set in a fictional town in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Georgia, a place that looks like a postcard but is full of very real people facing crossroads in their lives. These books lean into later in life reinvention, family ties, and clean romance, all against a mountain backdrop.

The series opens with Welcome To Jubilee, where Madeline Harper, a bestselling romance author in her mid fifties, hits a wall. Her marriage is crumbling, her latest manuscript has been rejected, and the glamorous life she built no longer feels steady. At her agent’s urging, she retreats to an Airbnb in Jubilee to refill her creative well. Small town living is not what she is used to, but the slower pace, new friendships, and a possible new romance begin to shift her sense of what her future could look like.

All Tucked Inn expands the focus to All Tucked Inn, a charming inn that has been in the Callaway family for generations. Lanelle Callaway wants to hand it down, but her daughter Heather is forty something, comfortable in her Atlanta career, and not at all convinced she wants to come home. An unexpected trip back to Jubilee and the arrival of an intriguing stranger force Heather to reevaluate her plans, her relationship with her mother, and her connection to the inn. Madeline, still settling into town, weaves through the story as she decides whether Jubilee is truly home.

Christmas In Jubilee brings readers into the holiday season. Madeline’s world is disrupted again when her estranged mother, Eloise, shows up in town just as Jubilee gears up for its Christmas festivities. At the same time, Frannie returns after inheriting her grandmother’s house and a potential bakery space, only to run into an old high school love. The book balances festive charm with deeper questions about forgiveness, second chances, and how to handle family who have hurt you.

In Blue Ridge Breakdown, Ava Monroe arrives in Jubilee in the middle of a snowstorm, running from a past she is not ready to share. A missing dog, a protective deputy named Jack Sullivan, and a tight knit town draw her into a life she never expected. The story highlights both the risks and rewards of opening up when you have built your whole identity around staying guarded.

Grits & Grievances turns the spotlight on Coop’s Home Cookin’, a longtime diner run by Walter “Coop” Cooper. When a younger, big city transplant named Tate opens a vegan restaurant across the street, the town watches the clash between tradition and change. Coop’s daughter Whitney is stuck in the middle, torn between loyalty to her father and her own dreams, not to mention a growing connection with Tate.

Across the series, Jubilee itself becomes a character, from mountain vistas and festivals to familiar shops and diners. The books are full of interlocking relationships and cameos, and while each story stands alone, reading them in order lets you see old characters grow while new ones arrive. If you like stories about starting over in midlife, complicated family dynamics, and slow burn small town romance, Jubilee delivers all of that in an inviting package.
