Isekai Emperor

by Michael Dalton

2024

Architect and engineer Thomas Stone is whisked from Earth to the Fae Wild and told he is heir to the Goblin King of a kingdom in crisis. With birth rates crashing and politics fracturing, he must use spreadsheets, city planning, and a very personal approach to rebuild a realm that runs on magic and desire.

Series background & context

Isekai Emperor is part of the Fateforged shared universe and leans into the playful side of LitRPG and isekai storytelling. It asks what happens when a practical, modern problem-solver is handed an entire magical kingdom whose survival depends on fertility and good infrastructure.

Thomas Stone is an architect and engineer on Earth, the sort of person who thinks in blueprints and load calculations. His life is upended when he is yanked into the Fae Wild and informed that he is the half-human heir to the Goblin King. The realm he is supposed to rule is on the brink of collapse thanks to a curse that has wrecked birth rates among the fae.

In the Fae Wild, the Goblin King's virility is literally tied to the health of the land. With the old king failing, clans are panicking, alliances are fraying, and the neighboring troll kingdom is eyeing the situation with interest. Thomas arrives with no idea how to swing a sword, but an excellent grasp of logistics and project management.

The books follow him as he applies his very mundane skill set to very magical problems. Instead of chasing experience points for their own sake, he focuses on rebuilding cities, managing resources, and negotiating with wildly different fae factions. His companions include a manic goblin "dream girl," an adorable pink-haired assassin, and other women who bring both combat abilities and political clout.

Mechanically, the series uses light LitRPG elements and base-building progression: territories to reclaim, structures to upgrade, units to train. Emotionally, it is about Thomas learning to be a leader in a culture that sees him as both outsider and savior, and about the women around him deciding what kind of future they want in a kingdom built on unusually intimate expectations.

Isekai Emperor balances humor, heart, and explicit content without losing sight of its central promise: this is a story about literally building a better world from the ground up, one treaty, one fortress, and one awkward council meeting at a time.
