Thirty years after a failed human invasion of the goblin homeworld, power tech Kevin wakes in a crashed dropship on a planet ravaged by bioweapons. His only chance is to fix a damaged reactor for a suspicious community of goblin women who might either shelter him or string him up.
Series background & context
Goblin Apocalypse is what happens when you mix post-apocalyptic science fiction with cute goblins, dangerous mutants, and a surprising amount of engineering detail. It is set decades after a disastrous war between humans and goblins on the goblin homeworld.
Kevin, an unassuming power technician, wakes up in the wreckage of an Imperial Marine dropship with no memory of how he got there. The planet around him is a ruin, its ecosystems shattered by a biological weapon. The few survivors he encounters are either feral mutants or wary goblin communities who remember all too well what human soldiers did to their world.
Kevin discovers that his technical skills are suddenly vital. One battered dropship still has a workable reactor, and the goblin settlement that controls it is barely hanging on. If he can coax the power plant back to life, he can give these goblins light, heat, defenses, and maybe the first real chance at stability since the war.
The problem is that the goblins have every reason to hate him. They see a human in Imperial armor, not a civilian tech who never wanted to fight. Winning their trust requires patience, practical help, and a willingness to take a beating or two. Over time, some of the goblin women begin to view him less as an enemy and more as a potential partner, which adds harem-style complications to an already precarious situation.
Each book layers new challenges on top of the core survival story. Mutant hordes, raiding bands, failing infrastructure, and the looming question of whether leaving the poisoned planet is even possible all push Kevin and his adopted community to adapt. Upgrades to the reactor, the settlement, and eventually a sentient shuttle named Rexy turn the story into a base-building saga as much as a romance.
Goblin Apocalypse is intentionally a bit silly in places, with self-aware humor about its own tropes. Underneath the jokes, though, it is about rebuilding after catastrophe, earning forgiveness, and figuring out what "home" means when the old one is gone for good.
