Series background & context

Ice and Snow Christmas is Drake's holiday romance lane, and it does exactly what the title promises. These are winter stories built around Christmas timing, cozy atmospheres, and characters who stumble into love while dealing with family gatherings, fake dates, work stress, or the general emotional chaos of December.

The books are lighter than some of her bigger suspense or fantasy series, but they are not interchangeable fluff. Each one has its own setup. One turns on a fake boyfriend arrangement for a family weekend. Another uses workplace rivalry. Another leans into a newly divorced single dad trying to figure out what his life looks like now.

The holiday setting does a lot of work.

Snow, travel, awkward family expectations, and the rush to not spend Christmas alone all help push the characters into choices they might have avoided at any other time of year. That keeps the books warm and readable without making them feel shapeless.

You can also pick these up more casually than some of Drake's larger worlds. They share a seasonal mood more than a heavy ongoing plot, so this is a good series for readers who want a clean entry point and quick payoff.

If you are in the mood for winter romance, a little humor, and the sort of story where emotional walls have to crack before the holidays are over, Ice and Snow Christmas is the shelf to reach for.
