Series background & context
Executive Suite Secrets is Drake's warmest contemporary romance shelf. These books trade vampires and bullets for billionaires, assistants, blind dates, old crushes, and the kind of wealthy social circle where everyone knows far too much about everyone else's love life. The tone is lighter than her suspense-heavy work, but the series still runs on strong character chemistry and a shared cast that keeps nudging events along.
Each book centers on a different couple. A meddled-into blind date opens the door. Then come a boss and assistant, a suddenly homeless single dad with a reluctant billionaire, childhood friends with a long grudge, and finally a best friend's brother setup wrapped around fake-boyfriend trouble and old secrets.
The mood is intentionally comforting.
Drake has described this as a softer, fluffier series, and that really does fit. There are still emotional wounds to work through, especially around family pressure, class differences, and old trauma, but the books never lose sight of their basic promise. These people are headed toward a sweeter life than the one they started with.
Because the cast overlaps and the friendships keep carrying forward, the series is best read in order. Part of the fun is watching side characters step out of the background and take over the next book.
If you want contemporary romance from Drake without the heavier body count, but with the same interest in found family, banter, and emotional payoff, Executive Suite Secrets is the right shelf to browse.
