Hard Cash Trilogy Books in Order

The Hard Cash Trilogy follows Richard Steele, known as Rich, as money, independence, art, sex, and love begin to change his life faster than he can manage. The first book, Moving Out, also published as Hard Cash, starts with Rich feeling permanently broke and fed up with watching other people have the clothes, freedom, and choices he cannot afford.

Then his artistic ability brings him an opportunity. Suddenly, Rich has money, attention, and the chance to live more independently. It feels like the solution to everything. But Cann is interested in what happens after the wish comes true, when cash can make a person feel powerful while also pulling them into new pressures and bad decisions.

Money changes the room, not the person inside it.

Rich is not a spotless hero, and that is part of the point. He wants more from life, but he has to learn that freedom involves responsibility as well as spending power. His creative work matters to him, yet friendships, family trouble, romance, and the people around him keep making demands on the life he is trying to build.

In Moving In, also known as Shacked Up, Rich’s private flat is no longer quite so private when Bonny moves in. Their arrangement puts two young people with very different problems in close quarters. The final book, Moving On, also published as Speeding, widens the stakes. Rich and Bonny are trying to find their footing as a couple when Bonny’s friend is drawn into a controlling group.
