Series background & context
Good To The Last Demon takes the midlife-paranormal feel Peterman used so well with Daisy and pushes it into show business, demon politics, and Underworld trouble. The series opens with a forty-year-old former child star who is already having a rough time in Los Angeles when she learns that career anxiety is not actually her biggest problem. She is a demon. There is a bounty on her head. And the hottest, rudest man in the room is there to keep her alive.
That man is Abe, short for Abaddon, and their push-pull dynamic drives a lot of the early spark. He is not exactly gentle. She is not exactly cooperative. Together they end up navigating Hellish bureaucracy, dangerous enemies, and the awkward fact that discovering your true nature does not magically solve the rest of your life.
The Hollywood angle gives this series its own flavor.
Peterman uses acting, auditions, image, and comeback pressure to keep the heroine grounded in a very human kind of insecurity even while demons, ancient powers, and Underworld stakes crowd in. That mix works well. The books feel glitzy and infernal at the same time, which is a fun place for her humor to live.
As the series grows, the mythology widens and the connections to Peterman's larger paranormal worlds become more visible. There are bigger threats, more infernal politics, and harder choices about loyalty, identity, and what kind of life is still possible once the truth is out. Even so, the series never fully loses sight of the woman at its center, someone trying to figure out who she is after the universe hands her a reality too strange to ignore.
If you like demon romance, midlife reinvention, and supernatural chaos with a bit of Hollywood bite, this series has a lot to offer. It is flashy, funny, and just unstable enough to stay entertaining the whole way through.
