Series background & context

From Beyond is built like a first contact story, but it does not stay simple for long. One thread follows Commander David Bryce, whose routine Mars mission is abruptly redirected after something strange is discovered drifting through space. Another follows Atlas Donovan, who is chasing alien artifacts on Earth and slowly finding out that somebody powerful wants those secrets buried.

That split viewpoint is what makes the series work. One side gives you the astronaut and military angle. The other gives you conspiracy, archaeology, and quiet paranoia. By the time the two strands begin to lock together, the books have already made it clear that the real danger is bigger than one ship or one object.

Then the infection starts.

Across From Beyond, Signal, and Survival, the series shifts from mystery into invasion story. The threat gets closer, trust gets harder, and the search for the Signal becomes the thing that might save Earth or finish it off. The tone stays brisk and tense, with plenty of running, searching, and bad choices made under pressure.

If you like science fiction that mixes alien clues, secret organizations, and a genuine end-of-the-world feeling, this trio is easy to slot into your reading list. It has Nathan Hystad and Jasper T. Scott's shared taste for fast plots, grounded characters, and threats that keep getting worse the more clearly you understand them.
