Architects of the Apocalypse begins with the kind of setup Scott likes, a world already wobbling before the full truth arrives. People vanish. Systems break down. Then some of the missing wake on Novus, a strange world that looks at first like a second chance and quickly starts feeling like a controlled experiment.

Novus matters because it is not just another colony planet. It has rules, layers, and unanswered questions built into it. The people dropped there have to figure out food, safety, and leadership, but they also have to work out why they were brought in the first place, who built the Menagerie System, and why leaving seems impossible.

That mystery is the engine.

Across Planet B, Worlds Collide, and Apokalypsis, the series keeps one foot in survival fiction and the other in bigger science fiction ideas. Earth is never fully out of the picture either. Healing water, aggressive colonization plans, and the sense that somebody is playing a much larger game all keep the stakes growing beyond one stranded group.

So if you want Jasper T. Scott in post-apocalyptic mode, but with more puzzles and hidden design than pure wasteland grit, this is a good lane to try. The books move fast, the danger stays close, and the real hook is watching the characters realize that the new world around them was never random.
