Cyborg/Gorgeous Books in Order

Cyborg/Gorgeous takes Davidson's comic romance instincts and drops them into a science fiction setup. The heroine, Caitlin James, survives a fatal accident thanks to extreme technology and wakes up in a life that is suddenly stranger, more dangerous, and much harder to control than the one she had before.

Dying turns out to be the easy part.

The series blends body modification, conspiracy-adjacent mystery, and romance, but it keeps the same quick tongue Davidson gives many of her heroines. Caitlin has to adjust to new abilities, new rules, and people who know much more about her condition than she does. That creates both the suspense and the comedy, because she is not especially grateful to anyone for dropping her into a science fiction nightmare.

These books feel a little like a cousin to Queen Betsy. Instead of waking up as a vampire queen, the heroine wakes up as something new and has to figure out what that means while attractive, secretive men and dangerous agendas close in around her.

If you want Davidson outside straight paranormal territory, but still want transformation, attitude, and romantic complications, this is the series to try.
