Series background & context

The Angelic Hosts series is Michele Gwynn's paranormal romance and supernatural suspense sequence about angels, demons, prophecy, and the people caught between heaven and hell. It starts with Camael's Gift, a short, emotional opening that introduces the central danger and the relationship at the heart of the first arc.

Camael is an angel whose duties include guiding souls onward. When he meets grieving mother Hannah Adams after the loss of her child, the connection between them changes everything. His feelings for a human woman put him in conflict with the rules he has always followed, while darker forces see Hannah as part of a larger plan.

Love is not a safe choice here.

In Camael's Battle, the stakes grow more immediate as Hannah disappears and Camael fights to protect both her and their unborn child. The story brings in angelic allies, fallen beings, and the threat of Lucifer's return. The romance remains important, but the series also leans into the larger war surrounding the characters.

The third book, Sophie's Wish, shifts attention to Sophie Fairchild, a child whose mysterious origins make her significant to an old prophecy. Sophie wants to help Cecilia, a girl without a family, especially as Christmas approaches. Her kindness draws dangerous attention, and the angels around her must keep her safe while the forces opposing the prophecy close in.

Small acts of care have consequences in this world.

Nephilim Rising widens the series again through Antonio Diaz, a Marine who learns that his own past is far stranger than he understood. When Blanca Ramos and her younger brother are threatened, Antonio's new role as a guardian pulls him into the continuing struggle against earthbound demons and an ancient prophecy.

These are character-led fantasy romances, with grief, devotion, found family, and protection threaded through the action. The heavenly conflict supplies the big stakes, but the books stay close to people trying to hold on to one another. Readers who like angel mythology, supernatural danger, and romance with a hopeful streak should begin with Camael's Gift and continue in order, since the early books establish the prophecy and the relationships that shape what follows.
