With Sophie Remick, he traces a deadly path through organized crime, smuggling, and competing law-enforcement interests. In Under the Long White Cloud, Adam and his partner Jess try to build a new life in New Zealand, but a dead client, fake identities, land deals, and a drug gang pull them into another high-risk investigation.

These are action-heavy private-eye thrillers, but Adam's internal struggle is the through line. He wants to be helpful. He wants a quieter life. Yet the people he meets are often in danger because someone more powerful has decided their lives are expendable.
