West Investigations Books in Order

The West Investigations books are contemporary romances with a mystery thread running through them. They center on the extended West family and people drawn into its orbit, including librarians, private investigators, police officers, and old friends with unfinished business. Chicago is the main home base, though the stories also take their characters on trips that complicate already messy situations.

The first book, Mad, Bad and Blonde, introduces Faith West. After being dumped on her wedding day, Faith takes the Italian honeymoon she had planned anyway. There she meets Caine Hunter, a former Marine and private investigator who is not being honest about why he is near her. Back in Chicago, their attraction collides with a dispute between rival investigation firms and Caine's questions about his father's past.

Trust is a real problem in this series.

Luck Be a Lady follows Faith's cousin Megan West, a librarian with a love of vintage style. A Las Vegas wedding brings her together with Chicago police officer Logan Doyle, then a family revelation sends them looking for answers about Megan's mother. Their search has room for odd stops, sharp banter, and the uncomfortable fact that both have good reasons to keep their feelings guarded.

Tempted Again turns to Logan's brother, Connor Doyle, and Marissa Bennett. Marissa returns to her Ohio hometown after a divorce and job loss, hoping for a quiet reset. Instead, she runs into Connor, the former high-school bad boy and now local sheriff who was her first love. The book leans into reunion romance, hometown history, and the question of whether a second chance can be safer than the first.

These novels work as standalones, because each gives one couple its own emotional arc. Reading in order adds more payoff, though, especially if you enjoy seeing relatives and previous leads reappear. Expect lively contemporary romance, personal investigations rather than hard-boiled crime, family secrets, and characters who are often much more capable than their first impressions suggest.
