Series background & context

Very Personal Training takes the gym-romance premise and pushes it firmly into Karla Doyle territory. These books are about attraction that starts with bodies, sure, but they do not stop there. The gym setting gives the series a natural closeness, a lot of charged one-on-one time, and plenty of room for boundaries to get tested.

In Body of Work and Worth the Wait, the central relationships are built around desire, confidence, and the awkwardness of wanting something that is probably not a great idea. One book pairs a woman with the trainer she has been fantasizing about. The other revisits a former client and trainer connection, with more life experience and more baggage in the mix.

It gets personal very quickly.

If you like contemporary romance that is openly sexy but still interested in trust, embarrassment, timing, and emotional fallout, this series is a good fit. The books are linked, but both stand on their own, and together they show Doyle's knack for taking a high-heat setup and giving it enough vulnerability to make the payoff feel earned.
