Series background & context

The Wishing Tree is a shared-world women's fiction series set in Linden Falls, a town built around one quietly magical idea. In the center of town stands the wishing tree, a place where people tie their wishes to the branches and leave behind little scraps of hope, grief, longing, and courage. That image gives the whole series its shape.

Each book follows a different character.

That matters because this is not a series driven by one heroine or one ongoing cliffhanger. Instead, different authors write stand-alone stories set in the same town. Readers return for the atmosphere, the town, and the emotional promise of the setup. Someone arrives carrying disappointment or loss. The community of Linden Falls, and the ritual of the tree itself, gives that person room to face what hurts and imagine something better.

Tammy L Grace's entries fit that framework beautifully. In Wish Again, Paige Duncan returns to her hometown and is hit by devastating loss just as she is trying to hold on to her mother's bookstore. In One More Wish, Millie King is living in Linden Falls but still carrying the weight of a buried trauma. Both stories lean into the series' core strengths, everyday women at a crossroads, small-town support, dogs, memory, and the hard work of believing life can still open up.

It is a gentle series, but not a flimsy one. The conflicts tend to come from family wounds, grief, regret, loneliness, and the fear that it may be too late to change course. The tone is warm and hopeful, not sugary. Readers usually come for comfort, but they stay because the emotional problems feel lived in.

If you like connected worlds but do not want a demanding reading order, this series is especially easy to enjoy. You can start with Tammy's books or hop around by author. What links them is the setting, the tree, and the idea that even overdue wishes can still matter.
