The Paradise Diaries Books in Order

The Paradise Diaries is Courtney Cole in lighter, sunnier, young adult mode, though the series still has enough disruption to keep it from feeling fluffy. These books are set in the fictional Mediterranean country of Caberra, and the setting does a lot of the work, bright water, public life, travel mishaps, and just enough glamour to make every personal problem feel more exposed.

The first book, Dante's Girl, follows Reece, a Kansas girl who winds up stranded far from home and falls for Dante Giliberti, the son of Caberra's prime minister. A lot of the charm comes from that contrast. Reece is grounded and practical. Dante's world is polished, political, and much bigger than she is used to.

Sunshine helps, but it does not solve everything.

The series likes fish-out-of-water tension. Reece has to navigate class differences, public attention, and the strange feeling of wanting someone whose life may be built on completely different rules. The romance is sweet, but there is always the question of whether a summer-world connection can survive real life.

Mia's Heart stays in the same setting but shifts to a different emotional problem. After a natural disaster leaves Mia with amnesia, the story becomes less about travel and more about identity. If you cannot remember who you were, how much should you trust the people telling you? And how do you choose between old attachments and new feelings when your own mind is not reliable?

That second book gives the series a little more depth than the cover vibe might suggest. Paradise is lovely, but Cole is still interested in confusion, pressure, and the way love gets tangled up with self-knowledge.

If you want a Courtney Cole series with YA romance, a strong sense of place, and a breezier tone than Nocte or Bloodstone, The Paradise Diaries is a good place to land.
