Series background & context
The HellBeast King series drops readers into a vicious corner of Hudson's universe where Hell has its own fight club and one monster rules the ring. It begins with Ella, a human who grew up on the edges of the supernatural world and ran as far from it as she could. One reckless night she follows her cousin into the infamous Devil's Ring, a hidden arena where demons and beasts battle for the amusement of Hell's elite.
There she meets Jared Cerberus, the HellBeast King. To the crowd he is a legend, a three headed terror wrapped in a man's body, the hunter even other monsters fear. To Ella he is the embodiment of every nightmare she thought she had left behind. When he warns her that if he ever finds her in his world again he will keep her, she believes him and makes sure she never goes back.
Years later the past hunts her down in the form of Hell Hounds tearing through her carefully ordinary life. With nowhere else to turn, she makes the one bargain she promised herself she never would and steps back into Jared's demonic domain. From that point on the series becomes a high stakes game of captivity, negotiation and slow, unwanted attraction between a woman who refuses to be broken and a king who has never been told no.
Each book pushes their relationship and their world further. We see more of the Devil's Ring and the politics that keep it running, from cursed contracts to rival monsters who would love to see the HellBeast fall. The deeper Ella is pulled into Jared's orbit, the more enemies she collects, from jealous queens to ancient powers who resent the idea of a human softening one of Hell's deadliest weapons.
At the same time, Jared is forced to confront the thing he has spent centuries avoiding: his own capacity to care. The HellBeast King might enjoy bloodshed and fear, but he is not immune to loyalty, humour or the stubborn courage of a woman who keeps standing back up. Their dynamic is full of snarling arguments, dark teasing and genuine tenderness that neither of them want to admit to at first.
With titles that track battles, mistakes, claims, hate, pasts, souls, sacrifices and betrayals, the series builds an arc that is as much about identity as it is about romance. What makes a monster. What makes a king. And what happens when the one person who sees you as more than a weapon refuses to walk away, even when Hell itself is trying to tear you apart.
For readers who like their paranormal romance bloody, brutal and surprisingly heartfelt, The HellBeast King delivers a full tour of the underworld, complete with HellHounds, demonic fight clubs and a love story that claws its way out of the dark.
