Series background & context

The Gibson Boys is Adriana Locke’s blue-collar small-town family series, and it is one of the clearest places to see what her readers come back for: stubborn men, capable women, banter, heat, and a town where everybody’s choices echo.

The series begins with Crank. Sienna Landry damages Walker Gibson’s truck, which brings her face-to-face with a broody mechanic who is much harder to read than she expects. That first book also connects the Gibson world to the Landry family, but the Gibson books are designed to work on their own.

From there, the series moves through friends, family, and second chances. Craft pairs history teacher Lance Gibson with librarian Mariah Malarkey, using cupcakes, workplace proximity, and a pile of unspoken tension. Cross follows Cross Jacobs and Kallie Welch, who have to deal with the past when she returns. Crave brings Hadley Jacobs back into Machlan Gibson’s orbit, where both of them are pretending to be more over each other than they are.

Then Crazy gives Peck Ward, the sweet mechanic in the group, a romance that sneaks up on him from an unexpected direction.

The Gibsons are not polished heroes. They work with their hands, mess up, say the wrong thing, and often need the women in their lives to call them on it. That is part of the appeal. The series is sexy and funny, but it is also about pride, old wounds, and learning when to stop hiding behind charm or silence.

Start with Crank if you want the full family and town build. If you prefer a teacher-librarian workplace setup, Craft is a fan-friendly entry point.
