Sugar, Georgia Books in Order

Sugar, Georgia is Marina Adair's Southern small-town playground, and it knows exactly how to work a setting. This is a place built on sugar peaches, moonshine, gossip, old family names, and community events that feel one small mistake away from becoming public entertainment. The series is warm, funny, and full of local color, but it also understands that starting over in a town like this means everybody notices.

The books revolve around different couples, with the McGraw family and the town itself acting as connective tissue. Sugar's Twice as Sweet, later also issued as Coming Home to Sugar Lake, follows Josephina Harrington as she tries to rebuild her life and restore her great-aunt's old house, only to land in the path of Brett McGraw. Sugar on Top shifts to Glory Mann and single dad Cal McGraw, mixing pageant trouble with a lively opposites-attract spark. A Taste of Sugar turns up the second-chance energy through Charlotte Holden and Jace McGraw, who discover their past is not nearly as finished as they thought.

Nobody in Sugar minds their own business for long.

That is one of the series' best traits. Sugar feels nosy in a fun, believable way, not as a gimmick. Pageants, parades, donor visits, house projects, and town traditions keep putting the characters on display. It makes privacy hard, but it also makes support easy to find when somebody finally stops pretending they are fine.

The tone leans sweeter and more playful than some of Adair's California-set series, though the emotional stakes are still real. Betrayal, divorce, accidental marriage trouble, money pressure, and family baggage all show up. The charm works because it sits beside those problems instead of replacing them.

If you like Southern contemporary romance with strong setting, lots of personality, and a town that feels half welcoming committee and half audience, Sugar, Georgia is a good place to settle in. The books are funny, flirty, and community-driven, but they also understand that getting a second chance often means dealing with the whole town while you take it.
