The family thread is strong, but it is not overwhelming. The Bishops love one another, irritate one another, and keep showing up for one another in believable ways. There is still chemistry, of course. This is Jennifer Probst. But Stay usually aims for comfort with depth. The books care about grief, PTSD, disappointment, reinvention, and what it means to build a life that feels safe without becoming a smaller one.

If you want her most heart-forward contemporary romances, this is a good shelf to visit. Read in order for the best experience, because the family bonds, returning faces, and ongoing sense of home are a big part of what makes the series work.
