Space Raiders Books in Order

Space Raiders is Lozito in a looser, more adventurous mode. Instead of beginning with colonists or career officers, the series drops you in with Nathan Briggs, an underdog from present-day Earth whose life goes sideways the moment aliens step in. What starts as one bad decision, stopping a brutal attack on a stranger, turns into abduction, pursuit, and a very large problem: Nate has something other people want, and the list of interested parties keeps growing.

The first book throws Nate and other humans out into a galaxy that is much bigger, stranger, and less polite than anything they were prepared for. That gives the books a good fish-out-of-water energy, but Nate is not just tagging along in someone else's story. He quickly becomes a driver of the action, partly because he refuses to quit and partly because the mysteries around him keep getting worse. By the time the series settles into its rhythm, it has the feel of a scrappy space adventure with shifting alliances, dangerous favors, and just enough attitude to keep the stakes from feeling too stiff.

Each book pushes the story in a slightly different direction. Space Raiders is about survival, pursuit, and learning the rules of a much bigger game. Forgotten Empire turns into a hunt for a lost civilization and the technology it supposedly left behind, which brings out the treasure-hunt side of the series. Dark Menace narrows the conflict again and makes it personal, as kidnappings across the galaxy send Nate looking for friends who have been taken. The common thread is discovery under pressure. Every answer opens another door, and most of those doors lead to trouble.

The tone is lighter than First Colony or Federation Chronicles, though not weightless. There is still danger, betrayal, and real cost, but the books lean more toward fast conversation, colorful encounters, and the thrill of getting dragged into something enormous. Nate is not a polished commander. He is an improviser, which makes the series feel rougher around the edges in a fun way. The crew around him broadens the world, too, especially once the books move beyond simple survival and into questions of loyalty and found-family trust.

If you want the Ken Lozito series that most resembles a pulpy space romp, start here. Read Space Raiders first, then Forgotten Empire and Dark Menace. The books build in a straight line, but they keep the mood nimble even as the galaxy gets more complicated.
