Shattered Dawn Books in Order

Shattered Dawn, written by Kenny Soward with Mike Kraus, is a post-apocalyptic survival series that begins when a mysterious illness spreads across the country. The outbreak quickly turns ordinary public spaces and family plans into traps, leaving people to make choices before they fully understand what they are running from.

The first book, Torn Apart, introduces Holly and her daughters during the opening chaos. When one of the girls calls in panic from a fairground ride, Holly has to act immediately. The crisis is both national and painfully close, as parents, children, and strangers face danger in places that should have been safe.

There is no time to prepare.

The series broadens through multiple survivors, including Bob and Jimmy as they make their way across Florida. A storm, the sea, hostile encounters, and the breakdown of normal support systems all become part of the journey. Each book adds new problems, but the central focus remains on people fighting to stay alive without losing the bonds that keep them human.

Torn Apart starts the outbreak. Preyed On follows the next stretch of survival in a more dangerous landscape. Set Adrift pushes characters into peril at sea, while Clawing Back, Rising Hope, and Surviving Dawn continue the group's hard-won attempt to find safety and a future.

Expect a fast, tense series with shifting viewpoints and a strong family-survival angle. Illness is the spark, but the continuing threats include weather, travel, scarcity, fear, and other survivors whose priorities do not always line up with kindness.
