Scorched Books in Order

The Scorched trilogy opens in West Texas, which turns out to be a great place to hatch a dragon problem. Trinity Foxx has grown up around her grandfather's struggling museum and his stories about strange finds, so at first the egg he brings home seems like one more odd object. Then Connor Jacks arrives from a ruined future and tells her that the egg could change everything.

That is the core engine of the series. Save the dragon, or save the world. The books never let that question sit still for long, because every answer creates a new problem.
