This darker single-dad romance adds danger to the attraction, trapping the heroine in a tense situation that quickly turns personal. Protective instincts and forced proximity drive the story as strongly as the chemistry.

The Dom's Virgin
by Penelope Bloom

A sheltered heroine and a dominant hero collide in a romance built on curiosity, control, and intense attraction. It is one of Bloom's earlier, hotter books, with a darker edge than her later rom-coms.
Baby for the Beast
by Penelope Bloom

A dangerous, dominant hero becomes impossible to avoid once pregnancy raises the stakes. This short, intense romance leans into possessiveness, heat, and the question of whether something reckless can become something real.
Baby for the Brute
by Penelope Bloom
2018
Bloom pairs another hard-edged alpha with an accidental pregnancy setup that leaves both leads with nowhere to hide. It is fast, steamy, and built around intensity more than tenderness, though both eventually show up.
Hate at First Sight
by Penelope Bloom

An instant clash turns into an instant obsession in this enemies-to-lovers romance. Bloom builds the story on sparks, stubborn pride, and the slow realization that hate and attraction are standing much too close together.
Her Cherry
by Penelope Bloom
2018

by Penelope Bloom
2018
A reckless encounter with a commanding prince pulls the heroine into a darker, more intense romance. This early Bloom title leans into power, punishment, and high heat while keeping the emotional stakes close.
Savage
by Penelope Bloom

A fierce alpha hero and a heroine who refuses to be handled crash into a rougher, more possessive kind of romance. Bloom keeps the pace fast and the danger close, with emotion rising underneath the intensity.
The Dom's Bride
by Penelope Bloom
2018

Her Secret
by Penelope Bloom
2019
A badly timed mistake and one very inconvenient secret pull two stubborn people into close quarters. The fifth Objects of Attraction romance keeps the jokes flying, but adds a slightly more emotional edge beneath the heat.
The Golden Pecker
by Penelope Bloom
2019
Another of Bloom's early outrageous romances, this one pairs a deliberately ridiculous setup with quick banter and serious heat. It is short, bold, and aimed at readers who came for chaos as much as chemistry.
After His Banana

Her Bush
by Penelope Bloom

My (Mostly) Fake Wedding
by Penelope Bloom
2020
A casual hookup gets messy when the woman from that unforgettable night becomes the hero's wedding planner, for a wedding that is supposed to be fake. Pretending keeps getting harder once the feelings stop playing along.
My (Mostly) Secret Baby
by Penelope Bloom

Kiss Kiss Fang Fang
by Penelope Bloom
2021

The Boss(hole)
by Penelope Bloom
2021
Juliette loses one job because of Adrian Terranova, then gets trapped working as his assistant. Their office war is full of humiliation, banter, and mutual attraction, which is exactly what makes it so much fun.
The Ego(maniac)
by Penelope Bloom
2021
Travis thinks his serious downstairs neighbor is basically begging for his attention, mostly by filing noise complaints. When work forces them even closer, his relentless charm meets the one woman least impressed by it.
The Room(hate)
by Penelope Bloom
2021
Kenzie and Sebastian start with a furious first meeting, one impulsive night, and consequences neither of them can neatly contain. This grumpy romance adds a surprise-baby twist to all the usual Bloom chaos.
Once Upon A Bet
by Penelope Bloom
2022
A bet, a grumpy single dad, and one woman who should know better turn into exactly the kind of chaos Bloom writes best. The setup is playful, but the emotional payoff comes from family, trust, and giving in.
Sincerely, Up Yours
by Penelope Bloom
2022

The Big Fake
by Penelope Bloom
2022
Bloom takes another fake-relationship setup and fills it with banter, sexual tension, and people who think they can manage the arrangement without getting attached. Naturally, that plan does not last very long.
First Comes Revenge
by Penelope Bloom
2023
When Charli's cheating ex tries to steal her book and wreck her future, revenge sounds perfectly reasonable. Jameson helps her hit back, but somewhere between the schemes and the sparks, payback turns into something sweeter.
One Frosty Pucking Meet Cute
by Penelope Bloom
2023
A runaway bride crashing into the hero's guesthouse is not how either of them planned the season. Snow, forced proximity, and small-town hockey energy turn a bad night into a very good rom-com setup.
One Steamy Pucking Meet Cute
by Penelope Bloom
2024
The third Frosty Harbor romance serves up more hockey-town chaos, winter closeness, and innuendo-heavy banter. Another unlikely pair gets pushed together until the flirting, and the feelings, stop looking temporary.
One Tasty Pucking Meet Cute
by Penelope Bloom
2024
Nolan, a pro hockey player, and Mia, a former figure skater, already have history and plenty of tension. Cooking brings them back together, but old hurt and new chemistry make staying casual almost impossible.
Hate Notes
by Penelope Bloom
2025
Snarky notes, workplace friction, and a boss who is much easier to hate than ignore drive this rom-com. What starts as petty warfare keeps turning personal once attraction slips into all the empty space.
The Wedding Wrecker
by Penelope Bloom
2025

Author bio
Penelope Bloom is the pen name behind a romance catalogue that started with contemporary heat and a lot of comic timing, then kept growing into new corners of the genre. These days the name covers everything from playful office rom-coms to darker romantic suspense and, more recently, romantasy with dragons, trials, and magic.
What makes the setup a little unusual is that Penelope Bloom is not one person. It is a husband-and-wife writing team.
Current author material describes a shared process. He handles the writing, while she edits, helps shape ideas, and manages much of the reader-facing side of the work. That helps explain why the books often feel both fast-moving and carefully tuned for romance readers, with sharp banter, big feelings, and a clear sense of what kind of emotional ride each story is aiming for.
The project seems to have grown quickly. Earlier interviews and bios described leaving a high school teaching job to chase writing full time, and the newer team bio talks about what began as a side hobby suddenly taking off. The pen name itself came from the couple's dog, Penelope, a goofy family favorite whose name ended up on book covers once the books found an audience.
That audience first fell hard for Bloom's romantic comedies. His Banana became a breakout title, and books like Anyone But Rich, The Boss(hole), and Sincerely, Up Yours helped build a reputation for grumpy heroes, chaotic first meetings, and heroines who talk back. Even when the setup is outrageous, an undercover internship, a fake wedding, a wedding wrecker, the stories usually stay anchored in chemistry, humor, and characters who are more vulnerable than they first appear.
Then came the darker side.
Bloom's backlist also includes mafia romance, possessive antiheroes, paranormal comedy, and more intense books like the Citrione stories. That mix makes the bibliography a little messy in the best way. Readers can bounce from something bright and ridiculous like Her Cherry to something moodier like Dark, then jump again to a paranormal romp like Kiss Kiss Fang Fang.
More recently, the team shifted into fantasy romance with Unbound, the first book in the Confluence Academy series. It keeps the banter and romantic tension, but trades offices and billionaire bosses for elemental magic, beast bonds, and a brutal academy system. It is a big swing, but it still sounds recognizably Penelope Bloom, just with more blood, more worldbuilding, and much higher stakes.
Off the page, the couple share a home in Colorado with their two daughters and a lively collection of pets. Their author pages talk about hiking, climbing gyms, frequent tennis, and an ongoing search for perfect pizza. Those details fit the books, too. For all the steam and chaos, there is often a lived-in, playful sense that these stories are being built by people who like spending time together and like entertaining readers even more.
That may be the simplest way to describe Penelope Bloom. Funny when it wants to be, messy on purpose, and always chasing the spark.
