Series background & context

New Beginnings is one of Nicole Falls's clearest connected trilogies. The books follow a trio of women linked by deep friendship, and each story circles a different kind of restart. That gives the series a strong through-line. Whether the characters are chasing a dream, grieving a loss, or rebuilding after disappointment, each book is about stepping into a new version of life without pretending the old one did not happen.

The first book, The Changeup, belongs to Geffri Robinson. Geffri is a baseball player whose talent puts her back in the spotlight, and the romance takes shape through rivalry with Noah, an opinionated sports blogger who challenges her in more ways than one. It is competitive, flirty, and sports-forward, but the emotional core is really about ambition and what it means to take yourself seriously when the world still sees you as a novelty.

The Restart shifts to Blair and brings a different energy. Grief and disruption push her to reevaluate what she wants, and an old marriage pact with Leighton suddenly feels less like a joke and more like a real fork in the road. The book keeps the series theme intact by asking what happens when a person finally decides to stop sleepwalking through a life that no longer fits.

Then the recovery follows Parker, who is trying to establish herself in golf while working as a live-in nanny for widower Kelly Steward and his three children. That gives the final book a lovely blend of career focus and instant-family tenderness. Parker's story is about letting go, but it is also about learning that vulnerability can be part of a comeback, not a threat to it.

What makes the series work so well is that the friendship between Geffri, Blair, and Parker never feels ornamental. They matter to one another. They show up. They talk, tease, support, and steady each other. The romances are central, but the books also care about women having people in their corner.

Sport runs through the trilogy in different ways, too. Baseball, a Vegas-rooted pact with an athlete-shaped orbit, golf, Falls uses athletics not just as scenery but as part of how her characters understand pressure, routine, and reinvention.

If you like connected contemporary romance with strong female friendship and each book offering its own flavor of fresh start, New Beginnings is an easy recommendation. Read in order for the best experience. The emotional payoff grows because you get to watch the whole friend group move toward better things, one love story at a time.
